The M.I.B. Land in New York

Will Smith Will Smith will kick off the performances at the 40th Annual Grammy Awards is Will with his M.I.B. dancers. An elaborate stage set-up and light showincluding a flashy UFO, land on stage to deliver the Man In Black. Backed by a DJ, Smith and his dance partners - which include 20 adults and 8 kids - are well choreographed aliens. In addition, M.I.B. agents lined the isles, giving the number a "Secret Service" look. Smith not only flows his verses flawlessly but he leads the choreography for the dancers too.

Just when you think he's done, the set changes from an outer space look to a trendy night club scene as Smith kicks into his latest hit "Gettin' Jiggy Wit It". Stripped of his black suit and now freshly dipped in his jiggy gear, Smith flips into the track. More uptempo than "M.I.B", "Jiggy" moves with a fever pitch and the dancers give off amazing energy.

The kids who make up Smith's little dancing crew are not only crowd pleasers but show stealers. The way Smith and the little Hip-Hoppers interact can make the toughest critic smile.

Smith's "Men In Black" is nominated for Best Rap Solo Performance. -Scott Rubin.
